All or nothing...
Why is it that our society is either one or the other? In health, you need balance. In life, you need balance. In love, friendship, parenthood, you need balance.
So why do we, as women (only speaking from my personal experience in the fitness industry) have so many ups and downs in terms of weightloss?
When I first attempted to lose weight, it seemed so easy. I just cut out the bad carbs, kept living my day-to-day life, and felt, well, content.
With that attitude, the weight just melted off--but I didn't obsess. I didn't think that one cookie would make my pants button pop. It wasn't until the weight loss and the food became almost like a game--the less I ate, the more powerful I felt--that my diet rollar coaster took off.
Happily, I can say that I have finally found my balance, both mentally and physically. I've been the same weight (the lightest I've ever been) for years, and it's all due to exercise and the right kind of nutrition. Instead of not eating, I've discovered that eating all of the time erases that "game" we play with ourselves. If we're not mentally obsessing about what, when, and how much to eat, then we can just live life normally, like most men do!
On this blog, I'll post healthy recipes, weightloss tips, and upcoming dates for my bootcamp sessions in Forest Park, starting summer 2009!
Here's to Health,
